Industrial Value-added of China’s Textile Industry Down by 3.9% in June

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in June, China’s value-added industrial output above designated size actually increased by 3.9% year-on-year (the growth rate hereinafter refers to the price-adjusted actual growth rate). And it edged up 0.84% from the previous month. And it rose by 3.4% in January-June period.

 

Industrial output, officially called industrial value added, is used to measure the activity of certain large enterprises with an annual turnover of at least CNY 20 million (about US$ 3.14 million).

 

The manufacturing output increased by 3.4% year-on-year in June and 2.8% in the first half of 2022. In June, the textile industry’s value-added output declined by 3.9%, and it decreased by 1.1% in the January-June period.

 

By product, in June, the production of 294 out of 617 kinds of products increased year-on-year. In the output of main products, the output of fabric dropped by 4.8% year-on-year to 3.4 billion meters in June and decreased by 2.5% to 18 billion meters in January-June, while the output of chemical fibers grew by 1.4% to 5.98 million tons in June and edged up by 0.5% to 33.67 million tons in January-June period.
