Fil Control, thread sensor expert

Key player on the textile market and especially in the textile machinery industry, Fil Control is a thread sensor expert and leader. Manufacturing thread sensors is one of Fil Control’s major fields.

Thread sensors are the most sensitive protections for the spinning machines. Electronic or Electro-mechanical devices change state depending of the presence or the absence of the thread.

The aim of the thread sensor is to detect and indicate the breakage or stoppage of one or more yarns immediately and automatically, thanks to an alarm with a visible LED flashing signal. Thus, it will send out an electrical signal to the yarn cutter to cut off the broken yarn and grip the cut end, or send a digital signal to the PLC.

Fil Control offers 4 ranges of sensors, whose quality is recognized worldwide, at competitive prices.

1- Thread capacitive sensors

Capacitive sensors are used to control the tension variations produced by the electrical charges into the thread in linear motion.

Fil Control offers 5 types of capacitive sensors: MCL1MCL-BMCL2MCL-E and MCS.

2- Optical sensors

Optical sensors monitor the presence of the yarn during linear, to-and-fro or ballooning motion thanks to infrared beam.

Fil Control offers 2 types of optical sensors:  non-contact yarn break opto-electronic sensors (MOS-E, MOS-C, MOS-E FDV, MOS-V) and electric thread detectors (XND-A XND-C, XND-E, XND-F).

The MOS is an optical sensor devoted to assembling operations on yarns : like covering and twisting, cabling, air texturing, etc. It is in charge of monitoring the final yarn in order to detect breaking of one of the ends.

3- Piezo-electric sensors

Piezo-electric sensors control a very slow motion or record yarn vibrations of the yarn sliding on ceramic.

In terms of piezo-electric sensors, Fil Control offers a product called MPS 1: it is a sensor which provides a signal with a frequency proportional to the step of torsion and the tape speed. Thus, it is possible to monitor the step of torsion and/or its regularity in the operations of ends assembly.

4- Electromechanical sensors

Electromechanical sensors  are used when the presence or absence of the yarn must be controlled at a lower cost.

The XC2-F is a low cost electromechanical yarn break detector.
