Uzbekistan opened ten textile and clothing manufacturing plants

 

Between Sept. and Oct. 2013, Uzbekistan opened 10 textile  manufacturing plants worth US$120m, just-style has been told.

The new facilities production can produce annually 29,500 tonnes of cotton yarn, 6.2m fabric pieces (including 120 tonnes of silk) and 3m pairs of socks, according to an official from Uzbekyengilsanoat, the state joint-stock company for the industry.

Uzbekistan Textile attract foreign investment

Uzbekistan is trying to attract foreign investment into its textile field.

According to the governement, “The availability of quality cotton fibre, trained workers, advanced infrastructure networks and populous regional product markets for textile goods are major incentives for investment”

And the expansion will continue:

“More than 700 units of machinery for US$13.4m are projected to be procured during…2012 to 2014…for manufacturing garments, yarn and linens,” noted Uzbekyengilsanoat deputy chairman Shamsitdin Sultanov at September’s Textile Equipment and Technologies – CAITME 2013 exhibition in Uzbekistan.
